Winter mornings in Bangalore

There are couple of obvious candidates for capturing the essence of winter mornings in Bangalore – Lalbagh and Cubbon park. There is, however, another place that presents an equally compelling case. Though not publicly accessible, this place takes up almost 100 acres in the heart of Bangalore. If you still could not guess the place, I’m talking about the IIMB campus.

It takes one to brave heavy traffic and congestions galore to reach this place – many people do this grudgingly too, I’m sure. But once inside, all the humdrum and noise tunes out into the distant background. In summer, its easily a degree or two cooler inside. In the rains, the trees get draped in a fresh hue of green like a bride getting ready for wedding. In winter, the mornings are really something to experience.

Being lucky to have access to this place, I visited the campus last week, on what turned out to be a fine winter morning. The roads are wide and well laid out. Tall trees line both edges of the roads. The foliage from these trees make up a thick canopy atop. The rays of the early morning sun pierces through a blanket of light fog. Meanwhile, the residents within the campus go about their daily lives. Here are a few glimpses of what I saw that morning.

Srinivas, very serene pics. Nature captured at it’s best! .
Surprised to see the campus has such a good amount of greenery. It looks like a mini forest inside. I envy the the IIMB inmates
