This 2KM long railway bridge over river Sharavathi, is situated near Honnavara in Karnataka. This stands as the longest railway bridge in the state. The bridge also provides a walkway, which is a preferred means to cross the river for many people in the area. The alternative to this is a longer (12 KM) route via roads. The north end of the bridge ends in a short tunnel through a small hillock. Climb to the top of this hill and the entire span of the bridge comes into clear view. Here’s the bridge basking in the mild sunlight at dusk.
